Push mower update

Just wanted to update on the fact that I really, really love the push mower we bought recently. I have already mowed the yard with it TWICE. In the whole time we had the power mower I think I may have mowed the yard with it once; it was just too loud and scary. The push mower is way quieter, and in many ways has been less of a pain in the butt. The old man and DJ are behind it, as well, which is a relief; DJ, however, does still want a riding mower. But, even if the old man decided that we needed another power mower, I would at least have the push mower for the times when I didn't want to wait for the old man to mow.

Great to hear!! :)

I'm fascinated with push mowers too!!
Are they really heavy to push? & how high grass can be cut/how often do you need to cut?

My Dad has a sucky gas guzzler & I've been lobbying for something like this!

So far best I could do was practise with an old scythe!! :)
I do feel bad-ass with this but wonder if a push mower would be, well, easier? ;)

Using a scythe sounds so old world! Cool!

The push mower is really easy to use...if your grass is at a reasonable height. When our power mower died we went for too long and our grass got to where we would have been huffing and puffing through a hot, Florida day to get it cut.

Honestly, we finally hired a fellow who cuts other lawns on our street to get ours to a more manageable level, and now we just use the push mower on it about once or twice a week.

I don't feel bad about letting Charlie (that's the fellow's name) cut our lawn with a power mower, because he hauls the mower around on this specially made trailer that attaches to his tricycle bike!

And I am very envious of his specially made trailer, by the way :)

lol I'm all for project-outsourcing and community-owned gizmos too!!

Trouble here is everyone has their own gas guzzled and they can't seem to agree to a time and day to do it all, so I really hate the noise - some days, one neighbour stops, and then another begins, on the other side (or my Dad!) Why can't they all just be loud together?

Dad said in some communities they did have a 'lawn-mower' day and I think that's absolutely fab & would love to see it here too!

PS I admit I feel like Death's daughter from a Terry Pratchett book when using the scythe. And am still not a pro. :)
